We are hiring an additional FORENSIC INTERVIEWER to join our Team of 4 forensic interviewers. FT – 40 hrs/week + benefits
The Gingerbread House, an Accredited Children’s Advocacy Center, serving nine parishes in northwest Louisiana seeks a candidate with a Bachelor’s degree or above in a human service field to conduct forensic interviews of abused children ages 2-17 and protected persons, collaborate with our multidisciplinary team (MDT) of investigators and service providers, write interview reports and case tracking summaries, and assist with community presentations.
Minimum: proficient knowledge of child development, child abuse dynamics, the Louisiana Children’s Code, and the criminal justice system. Demonstrated ability to conduct skilled forensic interviews, write factual and thorough interview summaries, participate in trials and court proceedings, and work successfully within the multidisciplinary team. Please note all forensic interviews are audio/video recorded and monitored by the MDT investigators. Forensic Interviewer will be on camera for a majority of job responsibilities.
Preferred: Master’s degree, 2+ yrs. direct experience working with abused children and their families, prior forensic interviewing and court testifying experience.
Required: Must be able to attend a 1-week long national training (frequently held out of state) – all expenses paid by the Gingerbread House.
